PAVASE is a new interdisciplinary summer enrichment program focused on arts & literacy for kids entering Grades 1-5. A unique summer experience, the standards-based program is designed to immerse kids in all areas of the arts (Music, Dance, Theater, and Visual Arts) and integrates literacy and critical thinking skills within the arts curriculum. At the end of the Summer 2013 program, students will apply their learning in a culminating performance of the children's musical, "The Lion King." No artistic or performance experience is necessary. The goal of PAVASE is to introduce children to the arts and give them the opportunity to demonstrate their artistic and academic abilities on stage. Space is limited, so sign up early for a registration discount before April 1st. Sibling discounts are also available. For more information and to register, please visit our website at www.pavase.com, or contact us by email: firstname.lastname@example.org or phone: (408) 657-8904.
The curriculum is designed to introduce children to the world of the visual and
performing arts. As the PAVASE logo implies, we will transform the child from the
beginnings of a larvae, to a caterpillar, and culminate into a magnificent butterfly.
Right at the start of the program, the child will learn the basic fundamentals of
music, theater, dance and visual art. They will create and participate in an entire
musical production, from making stage props to acting, singing, and dancing in a
musical. Through practice and application, they will acquire the necessary skills to
perform on stage. Connecting literacy to the arts is an intentional step to help
children deepen their understanding and appreciation of the arts. By the end of the six weeks,
children will have taken part in every aspect of putting
together an entire musical production.
