Fireworks, Parades and Much More for the Holiday

Kick off the summer with parades, fireworks and old-fashioned fun at these Independence Day 2024 family-friendly events.

All events take place on July 4 unless otherwise noted.

EAST BAY

Alameda Fourth of July Parade

Be among the 60,000 spectators to watch the nation’s longest parade, with a route that spans 3.3 miles and attracts more than 170 entries and 2,500 participants including equestrians, dance troops, floats, antique cars, bands and more. 10am. FREE.

Downtown Martinez Fourth of July Parade

More than 40 spirited entries will march down Main Street. 10am. FREE.

Moraga Fourth of July Celebration

Enjoy events throughout the day, followed by a spectacular fireworks display. 11am-10pm. FREE.

Oakland A’s Fireworks

JULY 3. A fireworks show will follow the 6:40pm A’s vs. Angels game. $17 and up.

Sausalito July 4 Festivities

Celebrate with a parade, live music, food, games and fireworks. The parade begins at 10am, followed by a town picnic in Dunphy Park. A pre-fireworks concert is at 6:30pm with pyrotechnics at 9:15pm. FREE.

SAN FRANCISCO

San Francisco July 4 Fireworks

Fireworks are set off from two barges on the bay with good viewing (fog permitting) from Pier 39 to Aquatic Park. 9:30pm. FREE.

PENINSULA

Ol’ Fashioned Fourth of July Parade

Enjoy a pancake breakfast, classic parade and festival with live music, kids’ activities and more. Breakfast: 8:30-11:30am, parade: 12pm, festival: 10am-4pm. FREE (fee for breakfast).

Redwood City Fourth of July Parade

The largest Independence Day parade in Northern California has been marching on since 1939. There’s also a pancake breakfast, festival and, of course, fireworks. Parade starts at 10am; fireworks from the Port of Redwood City at 9:30pm. FREE (breakfast $10).

SILICON VALLEY

Cupertino Independence Day Celebration
Start the day with a pancake breakfast from 7:30-11am, flag raising and children’s parade at 10am and a concert in Memorial Park Amphitheatre at 10:30am. FREE.

Fourth of July Fireworks Spectacular

Listen to a lineup of favorite American classics by the San Francisco Symphony and a featured vocalist, concluding with a fireworks grand finale.

Great America’s Fourth of July Celebration

Spend the day enjoying rides and the waterpark, followed by fireworks with a patriotic soundtrack at the park’s closing at 9:45pm.
